They also serve as critical communication liaison both for teachers and Home and School updates. Events and parties may include: harvest, Christmas, Valentine’s and end of year parties for younger grades; Fun Run and Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show for older grades; a class-sponsored teacher appreciation luncheon; and assistance in obtaining drivers for field trips or other class trips. Leonard Sax Speaker
Last week, Nativity school hosted a renowned child development physician and psychologist speaker, Leonard Sax, on the topic of “Instagram is Eating My Daughter and My Son Won’t Stop Playing Fortnight.” Leonard Sax also works with Michael Gurien, the speaker we had last year on the topic of the Minds of Boys and Girls. Those that attended the talk were greatly impressed with what he had to share. We urge all parents to watch some of Dr. Sax You Tube talks (recorded from other schools), which covers very similar topics. Here is a short sample of what he had to say: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TkeiL0wkm8 You can find more in depth talks on You Tube as well.
