Calendar Dates for SPRING 2021
Per the November 2020 Sister Direct, the full allotment of required professional development days for teachers and staff was not included in the published calendar for this 2020-2021 school year. At the time of publication there were too many unknowns to predict how to best schedule these days. SVDP is required to schedule nine professional development days between August teacher inservice days and the final day of school. Four have already been scheduled and used. Following is the schedule for all non student days for the spring semester.
1) January 18 – MLK Holiday
2) February 5 – professional development day (new to the calendar)3) February 12 – professional development day and necessary parent-teacher conferences* – Zoom (new to the calendar)
4) Feb 15 – Presidents Day Holiday
5) March 12 – Archdiocesan-wide professional development day for all teachers
6) March 26 – professional development day (new to the calendar)
7) April 1-9 off for Easter Triduum and Spring break**
8) April 12 – professional development day (new to the calendar)
9) May 7 – professional development day (new to the calendar)
10) May 31 – Memorial Day Holiday
11) May 27 (3 y/o) or 28 – last day of school for preschool
11) June 2 – last day of school for K-7
*Teachers will reach out to families where a personal conference is deemed important for the ongoing academic and social progress of a student. Parents may request a conference if they have a specific concern, and this will be accommodated if possible on the same date.
** With vaccines on the horizon we plan to be in person the week following spring break, with the exception of Monday, April 12 which we have scheduled as a professional development day.
We have not yet received dates for the 2021-2022 school year including first and last days and major holidays. This is usually available by February.
Protecting God’s Children
In an effort to assist in the monumental mission of protecting children, SVDP is partnering with you to present a safe environment lesson to your child. It is our cherished role as adults to fully protect children. In addition, we must also teach children/youth about their safety rights and boundaries, so that they have tools to protect themselves. This link is information about the program itself and the resources available to you. PLEASE NOTE: There are required action items on page 2 of the document with content you may need to return.

Gala In the Garden 2.0 and Golf on the Greens
Gala in the Garden 2.0
We are happy to be back and working hard to finalize our donations for a wonderful gala. We are so thankful and impressed with the auction package ideas and are excited to bring them to life! If you are looking to donate to the auction as a group or individual outside of your class gift this year, please consider supporting any of these fabulous packages through our wish list of items here!
Missed those holiday parties this year? Plan a class or adult party to auction at the gala! Hosting a party is a great way to come together as a community (when it’s safe!) and raise money for our school. Look for more information coming from your gala reps on class and adult parties for 2021.
Thank you to the families and businesses that committed as sponsors for The Garden to the Greens in 2020! There is still time to sponsor the Gala, the Greens, or both! To become a sponsor, complete this form. For additional questions, please contact Melissa Regan or 410.336.7097.
Volunteer Meeting Reminder: Our next volunteer meeting is Friday, January, 15 at 8:30am.
