Christmas Caroling Opportunity

SVdP families are cordially invited to join together for caroling on Thursday, December 16 at 5:00pm! We will travel the neighborhood and bring the joy of the message of Christ’s birth to others by singing the songs of the season! Note that this is a family event, so at least one parent should plan to participate with their student(s) — supervision is not provided. Please RSVP at this link so we are sure to have enough songbooks, cocoa, and cookies!

Please mark your calendars for the next noon dismissal on Friday, December 17th, which is the last day before going into Christmas break; it’s also a spirit wear day.

Community Opportunities

Adorers Needed!

For those of you who have not seen it, come by and visit SVdP’s Adoration Chapel.  It is right across the street from the school with the entrance door located inside the church patio.  Sunday has been designated as Family Adoration Day, and we are looking for committed adorers to fill some hours, particularly the hours of 1-2 pm and 2-3 pm.  Family adoration day means all children are welcome and encouraged to come to adoration.  Please consider the calling to sign up to spend an hour with Jesus.  What a great way to boost faith in your family!

If committing to an hour seems daunting, a great idea would be to find another family to sign up for the same hour so you can coordinate with them if there is a week you cannot make it.

Please go to https://adorationpro.org/vincentdenver  to sign up.

With any questions, please contact the Sunday Adoration Coordinators – Heather and Sarah Akers at  sarah_akers@yahoo.comheatherakers75@gmail.com, or the Adoration Logistics Coordinators, Steve and Christie Walsh at adoration@saintvincents.org

Pastor’s Corner

Archdiocesan Advent Retreat

During this 2021 season of Advent, Archbishop Aquila has invited the entire Archdiocese to go on retreat. Each Sunday in Advent, at every parish, the story of salvation history will be preached — created, captured, rescued, and our response. This week, Archdiocesan priests preached on the theme “Captured” discussing the reality of evil and suffering in the world and our need for a Savior. The study guide is attached here, and you can watch Fr. Hilton’s homilies from the last two weeks here. Prefer to read about this week’s theme? Check out this reflection written by Fr. Sean at Our Lady of Lourdes, just down the road from us. There is so much to receive from our Church right now, and so many resources available, so we encourage you take advantage of these for yourself and your family!
