A note from Sister Marie Isaac, OP:
Next week, we’ll have some special visitors here at St. Vincent de Paul. As a school with Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia on staff, we have the privilege of having our Superior General, Mother Anna Grace, visit our mission every so often. Mother Anna Grace and Sister John Mary will be with us early next week and are excited to meet our students and staff. If you see some extra Dominicans at Mass, now you know why!
On behalf of Fr. Hilton, thank you for your feedback on the Master Planning Survey that was open for the first several weeks of October. We’re compiling the results, and will be excited to share them with you in the coming weeks. Thank you also to the many participants in our town hall meetings, roundtable discussions, and user group meetings. They have been tremendously fruitful. Currently, our design team is reaching out to the Denver planning and zoning staff to evaluate the possibilities and limitations of our current properties with regard to potential future improvements. Then, as we move into November, we will begin to study potential design options and solutions for the future of our parish and school. Very exciting!
Follow up to Parenting the Plugged-In Child – Thank you to all who attended the talk with Lana Gollyhorn. It was an evening full of information that concluded with some great Q&A and commentary from our community. A summary of her message regarding children and technology includes three strong suggestions to parents: 1. Limit the time, place, and content accessed 2. Educate yourself about the current trends in internet and social media use in children 3. Monitor, monitor, monitor. Many parents are looking for helpful resources when it comes to how to handle technology and children and here are a few we suggest…

Honor a Veteran in Your Life
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School would like to honor the men and women, past and present, who have faithfully served our nation. We invite Veterans in the community to attend a short music assembly and presentation led by our students in the school Gym. This special event will be held on Friday, November 11. Refreshments will be provided by Home and School at 1:00pm, and the program will start at 1:30pm. Please RSVP and/or direct questions to Karen Plank, Administrative Assistant, by email at kplank@svdpk8.com or by phone at 303-777-3812.
Sick Policy
Just a reminder of the policy from the Parent Handbook on illness: “If a student has been ill with a fever, cold, sore throat, skin rash, skin eruption or other possible contagious condition, he/she should NOT be in school. A child should be free of ailments and/or fever for twenty-four (24) hours before returning to school. This is very important for the health of all. A child should not be sent to school with a stomach ache, headache, or other ailment. If a child is not well enough to stay in class, a parent will be called to come take him/her home.”
Church Circle Drive
Please do not plan to meet your child in the Church Circle Drive pick up and drop off. This is reserved for parish deliveries and handicapped parishioners.
