A note from Sister Marie Isaac, OP:
We began this week with a beautiful celebration of All Saints Day at School Mass. It is good to remember that saints in heaven are praying for us but also present to guide and protect us in a very mysterious but real way. It was great to see so many of our students dressed up like a saint and knowing a little about their inspiring lives. On Wednesday, we celebrated All Souls Day in which we remember and pray for all of those who have died and gone to see God before us. The month of November is dedicated to praying for the souls in Purgatory and is a fitting time to learn about this teaching or visit a cemetery.

Honor a Veteran in Your Life
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School would like to honor the men and women, past and present, who have faithfully served our nation. We invite Veterans in the community to attend a short music assembly and presentation led by our students in the school Gym. This special event will be held on Friday, November 11. Refreshments will be provided by Home and School at 1:00pm, and the program will start at 1:30pm. Thanksgiving Food Drive
Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will begin on Monday, October 31st through November 16th. Each classroom brings in their assigned item. Please see below the list. Extra Halloween candy will also be collected in the front lobby. The food is organized by our 8th graders as their SVDP Serves service project and delivered to those in need before Thanksgiving. Christmas Wreaths for Sale
With Halloween over, it’s time to think about Christmas! Please support our 8th graders as they raise money to fund their class graduation gift to the school. Orders are due by 11/19 and wreaths will be available for pick up at school on Sunday, 12/4. Online order form can be found here. Any questions please contact Caroline Iannucci

Honor the Veterans in Your Life
Do you have someone in your family who is in the armed forces? Or who has served? We are going to be honoring them in a special communication for Veteran’s Day.
Please submit pictures of the Veterans in your life no later than 6/6 to Erin Weidner with the following information:
Your SVdP child’s name Name of the person in the photo Relation to your child (Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle, etc…) Military branch that they served Years served and any other info that might be helpful to describe the picture.
This is such a wonderful way to honor our heroes!

Coming home to you soon will be your child’s custom catalog for the Square 1 Art fundraiser. Get a head start, and start ordering keepsakes and gifts featuring your child’s art online NOW, if you like!
Simply search for your child’s art using Art Search, and enter state, school name, and your student’s name. Your student’s art and code will appear, and you may order! The order deadline is 11/19/2022.

All School SVDP Service Day Volunteer Opportunity!
November 22 following Mass (9-10:30 a.m.) is the All School Service Day. The students will be working with their buddies in service for local charities. Cookie Baking Contest-Christmas by Candlelight with St. Vincent de Paul Parish
The parish is hosting an event we did last year called Christmas by Candlelight (December 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm). This year we are hosting a cookie baking contest! We will have both adult and kid categories available.
Christmas by Candlelight is a family friendly event where we have free hot cocoa, Christmas carols, a food truck or two, a Christmas photo backdrop and photographer to take FREE family Christmas photos and (hopefully) live reindeer! Click here for more information.
