A note from Sister Marie Isaac, OP

Dear School Parents,

I have been thinking and praying for all of you especially this week.  I am grateful for your notes and calls, which shows what an invested and supportive community we have here at St. Vincent de Paul.

I can not address every question that has come up right now, but I have a few things to share with you today:

1. Per Diocesan and State requirements, St. Vincent de Paul School has a Crisis Management Plan in place for our community. It is reviewed and revised with input from professionals from our community each year. It is communicated and practiced with our entire staff at the start of each school year and regularly throughout the year with our students.

2. I regularly meet with my staff to discuss our school procedures and how to respond to developing situations. We also have support from the Office of Catholic Schools and the local law enforcement, both of whom we have been in touch with today.

3. Because we take security seriously, we will hire a professional company to assess the present security measures and plan that we have in place.

4. Our security team is meeting to discuss topics related to what is needed to adjust/strengthen what we have in place, including but not limited to: door/window safety, vulnerable times/places, benefits of a security officer’s presence, security system.

Thank you for your patience, support and prayer for one another. Know of my prayers for you and your family.
