A note from Sister Marie Isaac, OP:
This Thursday and Friday, the majority of our faculty and staff experienced a Archdiocesan-wide retreat with the Acts XXIX group. We heard from Fr. John Riccardo about how to gain clarity on the mission of Jesus, the mission of the Church and the mission of Catholic Schools. If you’re interested in hearing the message he shared with us, see the following website.
As we continue through December, I want to give you an update of the Master Planning Process that we are a part of. During the weekend of December 3/4, Father Hilton shared with the Parish a summary of the needs and priorities voiced by the people of St. Vincent de Paul which was compiled from the meetings and discussions held this Fall. These were the top seven topics on the list.
Invest in Recruitment and Retention of Excellent Teachers and Faculty
Focus on Repairs & Maintenance
Improve Windows for Better Energy Performance
Options for a Parish Hall Space (instead of the Cafeteria)
Improve/Expand Outdoor Gathering Spaces for the Church & School
Provide Flexible of Meeting Spaces for Different Size Groups
Provide Adequate Gym Space for Athletic Events
Next steps:
December 15 – Presentation to the ArchDiocese of Denver requesting permission to design possible solutions to needs and priorities
January 25 – Town Hall Meeting in the Gym at 6:30 PM in which the Architect will present three or four design solutions. Response and input will be solicited.
Thank you for your continued prayers for all of us who are participating in the design committee. Fr. Hilton, Sister Marie Isaac, Judy Dunn, Dave Davia, Kate Chrisham, Joe & Katie Staib, Brendan Krueger, Mary Cohen, Walt Coughlin, Architects: Adam Hermanson, Summer Schaller.
