A note from Sister Marie Isaac, OP
Thank you for another great week! We loved having our Grandparents and Special Friends here with us today. We are praying for our students who will be Confirmed and receive their 1st Holy Communion this weekend. These past two weeks have been full of many community events that have taken us off our normal routines and also provided opportunities to be together. There are always many people to thank because our community is so generous, but there are a few people that I want to recognize and thank at this time. My list is endless, but I don’t want you to stop reading!
Kathleen Davia and Dee Kenny – Gala Chairs
A heartfelt thank you to Kathleen and Dee for taking up the huge task of running this year’s Gala at Coors Field. Along with their team of committee members and volunteers, we had another successful event last weekend. Thank you for your generosity The final report from Greater Giving in not yet in, but I will update you in the near future. If you didn’t get to see the Paddle Raiser Video, you can view it HERE.
Mrs. Thomason – our Art Teacher
The Diocesan Art Show – hosted at SVdP Gym a few weeks ago was fantastic. Mrs. Thomason did a wonderful job organizing volunteers, preparing the space, and coordinating logistics to allow so many schools participate and visitors enjoy looking at beautiful and unique artwork from our Catholic school students across the Diocese.
Mrs. Smeltz – our Music Teacher
In the past two months, Mrs. Smeltz has courageously led our students to make the beautiful presentations of the 8th grade Passion Play, 7th grade musical Pinocchio, and Grandparents’ Day. She also continues to prepare our 3-5th grade students for the Spring Concert next week. I thank her for her professionalism and for sharing her love of the musical arts with our students.
In the coming month, we continue to anticipate our 8th grade end of year events and Graduation. Please pray for them as they finish up their time at SVdP and head to high school. They will leave big shoes to fill, but we will try. During the month of May we will be holding Student Council Elections. Moving into next year, we will be adjusting the name of this group of students to Student Leadership Team. Without changing the essential nature of the council (there will still be elections of officers, class representatives and meetings), we will be emphasizing the development of leadership skills and virtues as well as providing opportunities to serve. We’ll announce the results of elections before the end of the year.
I am praying for you and your families. God bless.
