Dear Parents and Guests,

Welcome to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School’s new website!  SVDP School has been established in the Washington Park area for over 90 years, bringing Catholic education to the parish and the surrounding community for nearly a century.  With a mission as timeless as the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and as contemporary as the modern family, we seek to partner with parents in the total formation of their children. 

Central to the educational philosophy at SVDP School is the recognition that each child is created for relationship with God and has been entrusted with innumerable gifts of nature and grace to be used for their own personal growthand to be developed in service to the community.  Students are challenged and supported to grow in the spiritual and the intellectual life, to develop age-appropriate, social-emotional strength, and are formed in habits of good physical health and wellness, all while being nurtured as individuals in a personal, warm and loving environment.In such an environment as this, students gain confidence to take risks; they understand that short-term failures are necessary to long-term achievement; and they invest the kind of perseverance that will set them apart.  It is our determined aim that our graduates leave SVDP School assured of their own identity andequipped to engage the culture with the light of Christ.

To all of our guests, this website is a snapshot of SVDP School. I hope you enjoy learning more about us through this venue. However, there is a spirit that dwells in the school that is only experienced by those who come through the front door.
